Moody K. Wattz is a primarily acrylic painter based in Wichita, KS. Often a performer, Moody paints to entertain the population of Wichita and boost morale within the heart of the Bible Belt. They paint in underground music scenes, donut shops, at bars, and comedy shows. They are initially from El Dorado, KS. They are 27 years old. Their art intends to incite societal change through reflection of self, community, cosmic horror, social constraint, loss, growth, identity and ascension with a comic influence.  Moody aims to encourage anyone who feels stagnant to find a creative avenue to navigate through and release that which holds them back.

The pieces following are an exploration of psyche and external lens. Gaze is a theme. Gender is a construct. Harmony, Unity, and Pattern are present elements in the initial pieces. Shape and repetition are present, additionally. Moody pulls inspiration from book artists such as Alan Moore of “V for Vendetta” and Jill Thompson of “The Scary Godmother.” In their lifetime, they want to write a comic book about the art and music history of Wichita, KS to highlight the unique, funky hip-hop Wichita ought to be known for and their art thrives in.
